Spoke Too Soon

I'll still be playing Friday December 19 and Saturday, December 20 at DB Coopers in Royal Oak. It fits in fine with Jen's Christmas vacation and work will be slow, so I'm cool with it.

Off The Hook

Steve's schedule has freed up, and he's taking all 5 of the dates that I (Fred) was recently scheduled to play. Steve's been totally awesome and professional in working out our 'transition', and I really appreciate that. That means unless something wacky happens, my 7venth Son bass playing duties are truly over, and I'm off the hook. It's a little bit of a bummer, but I know it's the best thing for right now.

Thanks for all your support!

Upcoming Shows And A Fred Update

I know I haven't posted here in awhile, but things have been busy in my rock and roll semi-retirement, and my attempts to hand this blog off haven't been very successful. At the same time, I wanted to remind all of you that 7venth Son is still kicking around without yours truly. The next shows will be at Augie's on August 29th and 30th.

In addition, due to a scheduling conflict, I will be filling in for Steve for the September 6th show at Pepperbottoms in St. Clair Shores. That's like only 17 Circadian cycles from now.

It looks like we will have some new songs put together in time for the show. Some new rock, some alternarock, and maybe something funky. Hope to see you there! I'm looking for a map to the joint, if I find one, I'll post it.

As a side note, I got to pay a visit last week to The Twin Pigs @ Four Green Fields in Royal Oak with Stu, Jeff, and company. Jeff was kind enough to invite me up, and Mark was gracious enough to let me plunk on his Rickenbacker for a tune. Good times!

Some Pics From the Augie's Show

My wife took some pics while at the show. Non-professional, but there's a couple fun ones. Take a look.

More Dates, Pending Details

It looks like 7venth Son has picked up a few new dates, some at a new bar called 'Pepper Bottoms', and some at DB Coopers in Royal Oak/Madison Heights. We'll post the dates as they are finalized.

Next weekend, some of the guys will be playing some shows in Illinois with 'The Pigs', one of the band's side projects.

It's Always Fun @ Augie's

Once again, we were @ Augie's last night. We had a great crowd and a great time. Breach did a great job opening for us, and had a fun, albeit short 1.33 sets worth of music. I think the highlight of the night was our cover of "Hot For Teacher" by Van Halen. Kenny and Danny really nailed it, as usual.

Our friend Missy (Reid Pictures) came out and took some great pictures, too. I'll post some as soon as I get them. If you need band promo shots, we'll get you in touch with her, she does a great job.

Also, special thanks to Craig Norton, our resident roadie. He works hard to help us put on a great show, and doesn't get enough credit for helping us drag all that equipment around.

Until next time...

Yes, We Are at Augie's Tonight

I've had a couple of people ask me if we're still playing tonight. YES!

Come out and see us @ Augie's at John R between 13 Mile and 14 Mile in Madison Heights.

We'll be going on at 11pm. Special guest opening act is Breach.

Wed Show Is Changed, Saturday @ Augie's Is Still On

More scheduling weirdness. I don't have any details, but it appears that the Fat Iguana show on Wednesday, 6/24 (tomorrow) has been changed or canceled. There may be some portion of 7venth Son or The Pigs at the Fat Iguana, but it's not an official 7venth Son show. I'll update with more details when I know more.

The Saturday 6/28 Augie's show is still scheduled as a 7venth Son show, and I look forward to seeing you all.
